![]() ![]() Molle drop leg holster platform - Ebay £12 shipped (see above for geographic origins) I'd imagine that it's a pretty good solution for bow hunters as well.īohning Quiver - Ebay £15 shipped (major bargain - brand new and I was the only bidder - but I could have had a used one cheaper)ģ0mm mount - Ebay £4 shipped (budget crap direct from china) More importantly, it's very practical no rattling arrows, no nocks jabbing into you when you bend down to pick something up, and no disco style bootie shaking to get a dangling target quiver in a position where you can reach your next arrow. It's actually a pretty neat solution, even if it may sound a bit goofy and Heath Robinson - I kind of like the overall 'tactical' aesthetic, and my unconventional quiver looks surprisingly rakish in my opinion. This allows me to quickly release the Bohning clip on the bow, and slap the quiver on my person in a few seconds - it also means that I have two built-in mag pouches for a knife/multi tool, a big compartment meant for a pistol (yep, it's generic Chinese airsoft crap again) but about scorebook size, and several additional molle loops and Velcro areas for extra pouches/grenade launchers/coffee machines/cocktail shakers/gynacological examination equipment/whatever if I so choose to add them in the future. I've also repurposed a cheap airsoft molle drop leg platform with the addition of two camelback style drinking tube clips that conveniently fit the main support of the bow quiver. Like other respondents, I don't envisage me leaving the quiver on the bow permanently as I'm in the UK and only shoot targets, but having the option to put all my gear on one portable sling mounted platform is one worth having in my opinion. It also allowed me to mount it further down the rail to bring the quiver well within the outline of the bow and in the perfect position for a quick reload. With the torch mount fixed so it offsets to the right hand side of the bow when shouldered, the mount gave perfect clearance for other affixed accessories, (laser, daniels defence QD sling mount, and the supplied bipod) and positioned the quiver to around the same 15-20 degrees. What's more, the bolts from the torch mount cleared the quiver just dandy. On receiving it I discovered that sadly the 25mm would probably have fitted the hole spacing perfectly, but 5 seconds with a drill gave me a third hole in the Bohning mount that lined up without preventing me mounting it using the existing holes if I should so require in the future, or affecting the overall structural integrity. ![]() The reason for the 30mm was a/ it was cheaper than the 25mm version for some reason, and b/ I wanted a greater distance between holes to increase the final angle of the quiver. However, for various reasons I decided that a wholly quick detachable unit would suit me better, so I looked at the various cheap and cheerful picatinny mounts designed for airsoft (it's a quiver mount on a virtually non recoiling platform, so expensive billet aluminium was going to be nothing more than a lavish overspend) and settled on an offset 30mm torch mount from which I discarded the top strap leaving just the bolts and the base itself. Bolted in place, the mount puts the quiver at a 15-20 degree angle, which placed the nock end of the arrows conveniently close to the primary hand, and the fully stocked quiver well within the overall outline of the bow. What's more, the supplied screws also matched the threads perfectly. ![]() On offering it up to the bow in order to work out a good mounting orientation, I discovered that the holes on the QD mount matched up perfectly with the four holes drilled at the end of the TAC15's front picatinny rail if aligned diagonally (using just the left rear and right front holes when looked at with the bow turned upside down on the bench). Having looked at the various commercially available options, seen the prices, and thought "screw that for an expensive game of soldiers", I resigned myself to a more ecconomic (and as it turned out, more elegant) solution.įirst off, I scored myself a really nice six arrow Bohning quiver with the lever lock quick release system. I already have a Carbon Express 400 with a picatinny quiver mount, but wanted a longer bow quiver to accommodate the 26.5" monsters designed for my new TAC15. Hi, I joined this forum specifically to answer what may be a long dead topic, but it had me puzzling until I found a workable solution. ![]()
